A glimpse of Things to See and Do in Amalfi





Amalfi is one of the top destinations of the entire coastal region of Italy. The beautiful and charming town of Amalfi is located in the heart of the Campania region and there are a number of attractions to see and do, both in the town and in the vicinity. If you are planning a vacation in Amalfi here are a few things to see and do







Museo Della Carta (Paper Museum) - A paper museum  based in a paper mill which goes back to the 13th century. It's the oldest paper mill in the Europe. The town of Amalfi has a long history of paper making. The museum holds it's original paper presses, which are still in working order. The museum offers an English guided tour and you can learn about it's original techniques which have been used over the years.





Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Cave) -If you are looking for a  short morning or afternoon trip, then the Emerald cave would be perfect to visit: since it's only a few kilometers from Amalfi. Inside the cave you will see beautiful stalactites hanging from the high ceiling, and large stalagmites rising up from the floor.





Cattedrale di Sant' Andrea  (St. Andrew Cathedral) - The cathedral is the town's main attraction and destination for many tourists. It dates back in the 10th century, the highlights of the cathedral are: the bronze doors from Syria, the 12th century mosaics and the Baroque interior.





Valle della Ferriere (Ferriere valley)  If you like hiking then this beautiful valley is a must see. It's not far from the town and it's easily reachable  by bus. If you are up for the challenge,, once there you can hike all the way to Ravello. Ravello, another popular destination for tourists because of it's beautiful and  picturesque scenery's.
