Video Recipe of the Week: Lorena Shows Us How to Prepare HomeMade Fresh Tomato Sauce

Our dear friend and video recipe editor and contributor Lorena Merighi from Bella Italia Store , shows us how to preapare fresh Italian tomato sauce. August and September  tomatoes are at their peak of the Season, and what better time to make fresh sauce. I've never heard of any one Italian grandmother, mother, father or even aunt or uncle or even friend, who doens't make home made fresh tomato sauce, especially in late Summer. It's simple and it uses only a few simple and fresh ingredients. Lorena shows us how the freshness of tomatoes can easily add magic to any type of pasta.










Ingredients for Fresh Tomato Sauce

Ingredients for 2:
-1/2 lb Italian penne pasta
-3 tomatoes, ripe but firm
-Italian extra virgin olive oil
-2 garlic cloves, peeled and halved
-fresh basil, as much as you want
-Italian sea salt
