Make Your Own Pesche and Vino

Even if you didn't make it to Italy this Summer you can still drink your own glass of wine with peaches as if you hand picked them yourself. All you need is to find the juiciest peaches at your local market. A popular twist in Southern Italy is to enjoy wine and nectarines, which is the same exact process as using peaches, with a difference in taste being slightly tarter. A nice bottle of white wine is more appropriate is you prefer replacing peaches with nectarines.

So are you ready to enjoy fruity and flavorful glass of vino and peaches for dinner? One to two hours before dinner grab about 3 peaches, slice and dice and place them into a pitcher, then pour into the pitcher a bottle of your favorite fruity Italian wine. Stir and place in the fridge till dinner is served. Time is key to the infused wine, the longer it is chilled the better. Can be served the next day. Adding fresh leaves of basil will enhance the fruitiness of the wine which is a good thing.

Ideal red wines for your pesche and vino are: Merlot with it's intense berry and cherry aroma, Rubio with aromas of violets and raspberries, which easily compliments the peaches, or Rose' as the aroma's of the strawberries, cherries and peaches balances the acidity and intensifies the fruit flavors.

Not only is this the perfect companion to the classic dinner it also compliments well with appetizers or even a delightful pleasure during happy hour along with little Hors d'oeuvre
or appetizers.
